The Psychology Club, which is open to all students at Nassau Community College, provides a forum to discuss general issues in psychology through lectures and meetings with other students and psychology faculty.

RESPIRATORY CARE CLUB

The Respiratory Care Club is open to all NCC students. We welcome all new students who are interested in Respiratory Therapy. The objectives of our club are to promote the ethics and professionalism required of the career and to plan activities that will broaden students’ understanding of this field. Types of activities include bake sales and guest speakers, as well as participation in Respiratory Care Week and Asthma Awareness workshops. Monthly meetings are held during club hour (am).

SCIENCE FICTION/FANTASY CLUB

The Science Fiction/Fantasy Club at Nassau Community College is dedicated to bringing together students who are interested in the literature, science, and art associated with science fiction and fantasy. The genre of science fiction has played an important role in the development of cultures worldwide, found in books, art, games, television, and film. SIGMA CHI ETA

Sigma Chi Eta is the National Communication Association’s Honor Society for undergraduates in two-year communication programs. The membership of Sigma Chi Eta is composed of students who have declared an interest in the field of Communication. All students are welcome to join the club. Sigma Chi Eta participates in philanthropic activities, including fundraisers, organizes speaking engagements, and more! Although all students are welcome to join, those interested in being inducted into the National Honor Society must meet criteria outlined by the National Communication Association. You do not have to be a Communications major to be eligible for induction into the Honor Society.

SOUND RECORDING TECHNOLOGY CLUB

The Sound Recording Technology Club aims to give students a better understanding of the studio recording profession and the workings of the music business. The club holds regular meetings and sponsors guest lectures and other events.

SOCIETY OF CIVIL ENGINEERS

Members of the Society of Civil Engineers student chapter are offered many opportunities for contact with practicing engineers and involvement with many worthwhile activities outside of the classroom, including local meetings, field trips, and on- and off-campus service projects. The purpose of the ASCE student chapter is to expose student members to social, technical, and professional events that will broaden their education and career opportunities, as well as create a sense of community within the Civil Engineering Technology major, the Construction Management major, and the Engineering Science major, as well as with Engineering Science Physics and Technology students.

SOUTH-ASIAN STUDENTS ASSOCIATION

Formerly known as the Desi Club, the South-Asian Students Association at Nassau Community College tries to bring cultural diversity to the campus by educating people about the cultures of Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh. It is a platform for all South-Asians to enjoy their cultural religious festivals while away from home. We arrange events and activities in collaboration with other clubs and organizations to give a global touch to student life at NCC. We arrange different cultural, religious, athletic, and social events every semester, and we welcome all to experience a taste of South-Asian culture.

SPEECH, DEBATE, and THEATRE TEAM

The Speech, Debate, and Theatre Team is open to all students enrolled in six or more credits. Students are trained and coached by a faculty advisor in public speaking, oral interpretation, and debate events. The team represents Nassau Community College at tournaments coast to coast. Students compete in events such as poetry reading, duo/duet acting, persuasive speaking, and debate. The team competes against other colleges from across the nation, leading up to the national championship tournament held at the end of each year. The Speech, Debate, and Theatre Team meets every Tuesday and Thursday during club hour (am -pm).
